Leasing
We are excited to offer several different lease opportunities on many of our lesson horses. Our lease program allows riders to get extra practice time and to develop a deeper bond with a horse without having to make the financial commitment to full-time ownership, or as a first step on the horse buying journey.
Leasing gives you preference for using the horse in clinics hosted by Meadow Ridge, and shows
attended by Meadow Ridge. We work with our lessees to design and build a riding program that helps to build riding skills, as well as to benefit the horse’s health and fitness. Jumping is not allowed during lease rides. Anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult while riding.
Weekly lessons are required to be eligible for leasing. Please note that lease fees are separate and in addition to lesson fees. See our lessons tab for more information about lesson pricing.

If your lease horse is unable to be ridden for an extended period of time we will work with you to find a temporary horse to ride. We will ask for help in the care and rehabilitation of your preferred lease horse (i.e. hand walking/grazing, cold hosing, strength building under saddle when horses are cleared to go back to work.)
Monthly Lease Fees (in addition to the monthly lesson fees):
$100: This entitles you to priority on the horse for your weekly lesson (but not guaranteed over someone with a bigger lease), and one extra practice ride per week.
$200- This entitles you to priority on the horse for your weekly lesson (but not guaranteed over someone with a bigger lease), and two extra practice rides per week.
$300- This entitles you to priority on the horse for your weekly lesson (but not guaranteed over someone with a bigger lease), and three extra practice rides per week.
$400- This entitles you to priority on the horse for your weekly lesson (but not guaranteed over someone with a bigger lease), and four extra practice rides per week.
Additional practice rides outside the scope of your lease will cost the $30 practice ride fee.

Practice Rides:

Practice rides are great for riders who want extra saddle time, but who are not able to commit to extra rides every week. We require practice rides to be scheduled with us ahead of time, and horse availability is subject to scheduled lessons and lease rides. Jumping is not allowed during practice rides. Anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult while riding.
Weekly lessons are required to be eligible for practice rides
Price: $30 per ride

Horses Available for Lease:

Schooley- Schooley is a 21 year old Thoroughbred gelding who is a loveable favorite at the farm. Schooley was Corinne’s Novice level Eventing partner for several years, and he had previously
competed at Training level. He has also competed in Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage. These days Schooley is a great horse to show someone the ropes of lower level Eventing, Hunter/Jumpers, and Dressage in a safe but fun way! Schooley is a very fancy mover on the flat and is a wonderful horse to learn the “feel” of dressage basics on. Schooley also loves trail riding and hacking out in the field.

Misty- Misty is a 20 year old Arabian mare. Misty was Corinne’s first horse and used to compete in Hunter/Jumpers and local Eventing. After letting everyone know that jumping was not her preference, Misty became one of the best Hunter Pace and trail riding mounts. She has also proved to be an
amazing horse for therapeutic lessons. Misty would be a perfect lease opportunity for someone who wants to trail ride, or who is interested in working on introductory level dressage.

Pickles- Pickles is a sweet Quarter Horse pony mare that came from a farm in Maine
where she took several young riders to local horse shows in the lead line division and served as a beginner lesson pony at home. Pickles is a fantastic trail pony, and has a bombproof attitude in hand
and under saddle. She seems to really enjoy jumping and is figuring out how to go around small
courses and is also showing interest in being a low-level cross country horse! Pickles would be a great lease for someone who is looking to do a little bit of everything in their riding.

Marty McFly- Marty is the most recent addition to the Meadow Ridge lesson horse program. Marty is a 10 year old Quarter Horse gelding who was originally a ranch horse in Montana. Marty has a steady personality and is still working on his transition to a dressage and jumping horse. Marty is also a wonderful trail horse and would be a great lease for someone wanting to either work with a green horse with a good brain, or to get out of the arena!
